Mrs. Sweat encourages all students to participate in the Principal's Reading Challenge.  Students will be rewarded in the spring for achieving different levels of AR points.  The novels we read in class will also count towards these points. 

     In 8th grade reading, the student will explore literature through several creative work assignments, research projects, oral presentations, vocabulary, literature terms, individual,and group work.  The students will see that the novels we read can be applied to their own lives, no matter what era they occur in.  The literary terms introduced will be used throughout the year and applied to all the stories we read.
